What Do TEF Volunteers Provide?

In a perfect world, quality public school education would be consistent and superior. Following intensive research, it was concluded that within U.S. K-12 public schools, money matters:

The most common frameworks used in state school finance cases – evaluating school funding policies based on their ‘equity’ or ‘adequacy’ – do not acknowledge that students in poverty need more from their schools than their more affluent peers. Moreover, neither framework requires courts and policymakers to consider the quality of education, including teachers, curriculum, programs, and social supports. – Center for American Progress

Schools with educational foundations have better student outcomes that include elevated test scores and higher graduation rates. Educational foundations can provide students and teachers with opportunities and additional tools that exceed basic requirements. Some volunteers provide financial support and others are available for “boots on the ground” action.

Tomball Educational Foundation volunteers:

  1. Are ambassadors of positive public relations for our schools

  2. Empower educators to further develop confident, self-sufficient future leaders

  3. Encourage more local citizen action for better education in Tomball, Harris Cuinty, and Texas

  4. Engage residents and promote interaction with schools

  5. Offer creative ideas for fundraising and support
