July 24 – August 7 Tomball Back-To-School Donations Needed: Let’s Stuff the Bus!

Tomball, TX is considered one of the best Houston suburbs in which to reside, especially for families wanting their kids to have better-than-average educations. Even if you don’t have school-age youngsters at home, your community’s quality of life and future depend on our kids’ learning opportunities. If you appreciate the way we live in Tomball, helping kids grow academically should be a priority for us all.

August 13 is the first day of the 2024-2025 school year.

School supplies differ for students in various grades. For example, a Tomball first-grade student needs one Fiskars 5″ scissors with a blunt/rounded tip. Some junior high students need a Panasonic ball earbud with an s-jack. Neither of these school supplies are overly expensive, but for economically challenged families, even the most basic school supplies can be out of reach.

Tomball ISD’s back-to-school information can be found at: https://www.tomballisd.net/families/back-to-school and school-specific supply lists are on the district’s parent portal: https://www.tomballisd.net/families/parent-portal/school-supply-lists.

Most kids’ parents and caregivers are already shopping at area stores with lists in hand. And the majority of our kids will be well-prepared for this school year with backpacks full of educational supplies. But some students need help. Kids from economically challenged homes need assistance acquiring the tools for learning, including new backpacks for daily use.

Our culture and attitudes have changed, but not being “different” continues to be important to many kids. You donation can not only improve a child’s self-image and attitude, but it can also lead to increased creativity, higher grades, and an eagerness to learn. Stuff The Bus is an annual Tomball Education Foundation event. Every year, we ask our Tomball community to help with school supply donations that can level the playing field for all students.
