Last year’s meeting was held at the Tomball Early Excellence Academy on Keefer Road. This pre-k learning center provides a strong foundation of literacy for Tomball children to become K-12 scholars. The Tomball Education Foundation’s State of the District event serves as a reminder to TISD supporters they are providing a legacy of educational excellence that is beyond compare in the State of Texas.
It is believed that more than most, Tomball Independent School District students maximize educational opportunities throughout the school year. While Tomball ISD students may not differ in intelligence from their peers in Northwest Harris County or across Texas, their consistently high scores and grades reflect their enthusiasm for learning. One reason why is likely the number of opportunities available for classroom learning fun and stimulation. Thanks to TEF’s grants program, Tomball teachers and staff can offer interesting programs and advanced materials that aren’t covered by basic funding.

Three Reasons Why Tomball ISD Is a Destination District
How – why – does Tomball ISD maintain its top-district status in Texas and the Houston area? One homebuyers’ resource cited its student-to-teacher ratio of 16:1. Other explanations included:
- Award-winning pride – Tomball ISD continues to win awards and receive recognition for outstanding scholastic outcomes. Most recently, it received second place in Top-Rated Houston School Districts 2025 and first place for Best Teachers in Harris County.
- Constant expansion/improvement – The community of Tomball; indeed, the entire Northwest-Houston area, continues to evolve and prosper. The school district reflects that ongoing wave of growth and improvement.
- Tomball Star Academy – An early-college high school allows students to complete high school diploma requirements while also earning college credits. This gives students a competitive academic edge.
In addition to earning A-plus grades in academics, educators, and college preparatory programs, Tomball schools earned high marks in administration, extracurricular activities, and sports. Tomball Independent School District educates more than 23,000 students across 24 campuses.
