TEF Exciting Events: Stuff The Bus

Stuff The Bus, an exciting TEF event, unites the community and supports students in need. It’s also a chance for our youth to help their peers. -Kristy McCoy, President, Tomball Education Foundation

The Tomball Education Foundation exists not only to meet many of the educational needs of the Tomball school district, but also to facilitate a dynamic educational environment in which our students can experience learning excitement. Various committees serve to streamline the organizational efforts to fulfill TEF’s mission. The committees (development, events & marketing, finance, and programs) are volunteer-led by a membership dedicated to improving scholastic opportunities and student achievement.

TEF Events & Marketing Committee

An events and marketing committee evaluates an organization’s existing programs and expands or modifies them. Evaluation can include gathering and analyzing data from previous events then making decisions about a program’s continuation and/or modification. Identifying fundraising strengths and limitations helps the TEF events & marketing committee improve organizational effectiveness.

The committee may also develop new campaigns. The Tomball Education Foundation events & marketing committee reports to the board of directors and encourages discussions about TEF activities and their effectiveness. Most importantly, the committee members ensure activities ultimately benefit our Tomball Independent School District students while meeting donor expectations.

The events & marketing committee has coordinated successful TISD promotional and fundraising efforts which include Boots and Bling, State of The District, and Stuff the Bus, one of the most popular and successful initiatives for TEF and the Tomball Independent School District. To level the playing field for every child, TEF ensures school supplies, including backpacks, are available to students who need them.

Stuff The Bus

August 12, 2025, is the first day of the 2025-2026 school year at Tomball ISD. Stuff the Bus is one of the first events that kicks off the new school year, and even though the campaign will be held July 28 – August 29, TEF is already hard at work collecting school supplies that will be needed.

TEF’s Spring Drive 2025 for Stuff The Bus was held in May, with help from the Tomball district’s 5th-8th graders. Winning grades/classrooms donated the most items for the 2025-2026 Stuff The Bus and received rewards that ranged from ice cream parties, extra recesses, and local Chick-fil-A cookie parties with the cow mascot. TEF is proud of and values its partnership with the Chick-fil-A at Hwy. 249/Jones Road, as well as grateful for the support from State Road 2920/I-99 and Cypress-Rosehill Chick-fil-A restaurants.

The campaign is also an ongoing project; if students need supplies during the year, the school has only to reach out to TEF for support. (FYI: Our schools don’t always have the staff needed to manage individual donations. Please contact Tomball Education Foundation for more information about Stuff the Bus donations.)

On July 22, TEF will celebrate its partnership with the Liberty Bells, Patriots and Sophisticats, and Redcats from the All-American Youth football and drill team programs. When the 4th Annual Stuff The Bus initiative begins in July, the events & marketing committee will target high school collection sites as well as other locations. Spirit Night will be held August 7 at the Hwy. 249/Jones Road Chick-fil-A. Each program will be collecting back-to-school items for TEF’s Stuff the Bus initiative.

Stuff The Bus ensures all students will have the materials, non-traditional supplies, and best of all – the opportunities – they need for success in the classroom, regardless of socioeconomic status.
