The first day of the Tomball ISD 2023-2024 student calendar year is August 15. We’ll see approximately 22,500 students this school year.
The Tomball Education Foundation welcomed the new year and our new educators August 2, 2023. The New Staff Breakfast was held to celebrate our new team members to the Tomball ISD educational team. On August 4, 2023, the New Teacher Vendor Fair Friday helped teachers that are new to the district get to know TEF and how our grants can work for them.

Donor Tailgate

Early Excellence Academy
The program’s start date is August 15, 2023! Just like our pre-K students, the Early Excellence Academy is a work in-progress. The 500 eligible students for this year’s program must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2023, and meet at least one of these requirements:
- Child of family member/honorees, Star of Texas Awards
- Child of active-duty military parent
- Educationally disadvantaged
- Presently/previously in state fostercare program
- Surviving child of military active-duty-deceased parent
- Unable to speak/comprehend English as a language

Teacher Vacancies
Tomball ISD is a desirable school district that offers competitive pay and superior working conditions. As of August 2, 2023, there were 5 teacher vacancies to be filled among our educational professionals.
This year the TISD board passed the largest teacher raise ever. The salary increase also included equity adjustments for a $60,500 starting salary.
TEF Gala
Save the date! Our annual TEF Gala is scheduled for Thursday, November 2, 2023. When, where, and this year’s theme will be announced soon.
Student 2 Staff
We are grateful for our students who attended Tomball schools and then returned to become community educators and leaders! Our campaign will proudly display yard signage on the front lawns of previous students who are now Tomball ISD staff.

P-TECH
The Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) Technology Pathways in Early College High schools (P-TECH) initiative offers an open-enrollment program that creates workforce pathways aligned with high-demand, high-wage fields throughout the state. Students enrolled in the P-TECH program work toward an associate degree while gaining hands-on work experience.
P-TECH partners with HCA Houston Healthcare-Tomball and Lone Star College Tomball. All credits can be transferred to a Texas 2- or 4-year college or university. For more information, contact Tomball Star Academy, 281-357-3222.
Stuff the Bus
It’s more than pencils and paper: HCA is currently collecting Stuff the Bus items through August 15. Some of the items requested include:
- New fall/winter clothing with tags still attached (jackets, jeans, socks, underwear)
- Non-perishable foods (individually wrapped snacks, ramen noodles, soup)
- School supplies (backpacks, headphones, basics)
- Toiletries (unopened/sealed body washes, shampoos, deodorants, soaps)
